WIRRAL UNISON HAS A DEDICATED ORGANISER FOR THE ADULT CARE SECTOR

Wirral UNISON has a dedicated organiser, Ian Seddon, working in the Adult Care Sector. Ian has been campaigning for the Real Living Wage to be continued for workers in care providers under the Wirral Council contract. The Real Living Wage has increased to £12.00 per hour from the previous rate of £10.90 and we expect confirmation that this will be applied from April 2024 in Adult Care in Wirral.

We have lobbied Councillors on this issue and asked questions at Council Committee meetings to ensure that it is committed to in the Council Budget.

This is just one of the issues we have been fighting for.
